Pastor Joseph Campbell
Executive Pastor, Mount Ridge Missionary Baptist Church
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5,6
Pastor Joseph Campbell brings a dynamic blend of faith, leadership, and a heart for people to his role as Executive Pastor of Mount Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. Born and raised in Chicago on October 30, 1985, Pastor Campbell grew up under the guidance of a pastor father and a schoolteacher mother, who together laid a strong foundation of faith and service in his life.
From a young age, he was active in ministry serving in the choir, as an usher, and as a junior deacon. That early involvement shaped his deep love for the church and prepared him for his call to preach. He accepted his calling into ministry in 2008, shortly after earning his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Michigan State University.
As Executive Pastor of Mount Ridge, Pastor Campbell provides strategic and spiritual leadership, helping to guide the church forward in growth, connection, and impact. His leadership reflects his core belief: that education is a powerful tool that equips believers to grow, lead, and serve. A dedicated educator by profession, he serves as a Principal within Chicago Public Schools and holds two advanced degrees a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Master’s in Educational Leadership. He also plans to pursue doctoral studies in the near future.
In addition to his ministry and educational leadership, Pastor Campbell is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and the devoted father of one son, Nathan.
His guiding Scripture, Proverbs 3:5–6, is not just a personal mantra it’s how he leads: with trust in God, humility in service, and a commitment to helping others discover their God-given purpose.
